Remarks & Notes
The Chinese KD7 2-8-0s were built in the US as post war relief. A total of 160 were sent to China in 1946-47 with the order split between Baldwin, Lima and Alco. The engines were much liked by the Chinese but by the time this photo was taken they had long been bumped off mainline trains and relegated to yard and transfer duties were they continued to provide good service. This example appears to have been built to oil firing but has been converted to burn coal.
