Remarks & Notes

Scots Guardsman is a very busy locomotive at the moment and it seems that barely a day passes without it performing main line duties. Thankfully most of these are on my 'home turf' of Yorkshire! I usually reject locations 'under the wires' as I find the catenary so ugly as to be ruinous of most images. This morning I decided to try and find a reasonable viewpoint that avoided (or at least masked) the worst excesses of these awful steel poles and wires. Crow Nest Lane at Beeston on the long descent into Leeds from Ardsley provided the location with the rose bay willow herb and straw grass adding a dash of colour to the lineside.
