| End of an Era Even though the CF&I had already been purchased by Oregon Steel Mills years earlier in 1992, the rails being rolled in the mill after the acquisition date would still have the former owner’s lettering displayed on their web. In 1998 that would change with the renaming of the Pueblo facility as Rocky Mountain Steel Mills and thus leave the rails produced in 1997 as the final ones to have the famous “CF&I” lettering rolled along their web. |
