Remarks & Notes

In the Spring, California's hills turn emerald green. Winding its way through the verdant Tehachapi Mountains on March 7th, 1997, is Burlington Northern Santa Fe train H-KCRI1-04 (High Priority Merchandise; Kansas City KS to Richmond CA), with an all EMD consist up front: ATSF SD40-2 5034, ATSF SD45-2 5823, ATSF SD40-2 5117, MK (ex-ATSF) SD45 5365 and ATSF SD45 5378. The helpers, no longer visible at Cliff in the distance, are BN B30-7A 4099 and Conrail SD40-2 6461.
