Remarks & Notes
Elkhorn City, Kentucky, the northern most point on the Clinchfield Railroad. Despite this, it was common practice for Clinchfield trains to run north to Shelby, KY. to drop trains in the Chesapeake and Ohio yard and also common for C&O to run south to Elkhorn City to drop trains. Locals were also common from Shelby to Elkhorn City, as is the power to the right of Clinchfield 2009, which sits in the servicing area just to the north of the yard. Just east of this spot is where the yard office used to sit. 120mm slide from my collection, photographer unknown.
