Remarks & Notes

After delayed in production and delivery to the Clinchfield, EMD delivered 10 new SD45-2's. These 3600 HP monsters were major coal haulers and excellent road freight locomotives for the Clinchfield. Here, 3611 sits under the sand tower in Erwin, awaiting assignment. 35mm slide from my collection, photo by Bill Bedell.
