A regional express train from Stralsund, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, to Holzdorf (Elster), Saxony-Anhalt, is reaching its next stop at Birkengrund after having passed Berlin on its long route through the East of Germany. This series of double-decker cars is the most modern one being used in regional traffic services throughout Germany.
