Remarks & Notes

Where electrics formerly ruled, Milwaukee Road Extra 21 East was reaching for the sky near Adair, Idaho on July 19, 1978 as it climbed the 1.7% grade toward St. Paul Pass and Montana in the Bitterroots Mountains. The route is a hiking trail today. One catenary support was still standing on the trestle, above the 2nd car.
