Remarks & Notes |
Dumper Job power is serviced and ready to go at the Escanaba roundhouse. 6711 and 6716 will spend the evening and overnight shoving ore. Before the CNW moved out of the old lakefront roundhouse it always amazed me that the 400,000 pound Alco's didn't derail more often on the rough light rail in the roundhouse area. First C628 I moved was the 6727 in the summer of 75 on this track. I got her up to 10mph wandering through here but the roundhouse foreman standing over my shoulder was quick to mention 5mph was probably a better idea. It's hard to even imagine that a 17 year old kid could once hang out at a roundhouse and be allowed to move a few Alco's around. |
