| As a stormy day on Donner Pass draws to a close, Union Pacific 7415 races the KLTG2 east towards Sparks. This has not been an easy trip for the crew as they encountered power problems near Gold Run with Amtrak hot on their tail. The dispatcher took a gamble running a "problem train" through the Big Hole (Tunnel 41) before Amtrak and it paid off. The KLTG2 was able to make it to Truckee where Amtrak 6 ran around it. From there they both headed east towards Sparks. Here at Glenshire, only minutes behind the California Zephyr, the KLTG2 snakes along the Truckee River as it grinds its way east. |
