Remarks & Notes
On an early May day in 1971, the "PJ&B" shuttle (from "Princeton Junction & Back") has arrived at Princeton Junction after a run of three miles down the hill from Princeton University. The "dinky," as it has been known for years, amazingly still operates today---now under the aegis of New Jersey Transit. The conductor has just jumped off, and is heading to the station. These old platforms were long ago replaced by high level versions at Princeton Junction. The four-track New York-Washington main line is in the foreground.
