| Train 243 from Westfield to Wellington approaches Opaheke Road between Papakura and Drury, just beyond the section of the North Island Main Traink electrified for Southern Line Auckland Transport trains. This was one of the first lash ups of older locomotives after 40 CNR built DL class locos were sidelined after discovery they contained asbestos. Many EMD and GE locos returned from South Island to keep trains running and fans delighted. Buyer beware with Chinese locos! |
