Remarks & Notes |
The first Viewliner II released from CAF USA in Elmira, NY rolls down the connection track from Canadian Pacific to Amtrak at the Schenectady Amtrak station after an all day trip from Elmira. The Special Amtrak train consisting of AMTK 203, an Amfleet Café, the new baggage car and AMTK 520 was routed NS-CP-Amtrak via Binghamton and Schenectady. The old NYC 4 track main to Chicago curves to the left and is still protected by a classic NYC style searchlight that was installed in the Conrail era when this area was rebuilt. The AMTK 520 logged many miles thru Schenectady in the 1990's as AMTK 192, a former GO Transit GP40TC which was in revenue Empire Service |
