A friend who is a Simpson RR employee gained permission to conduct a special trip for a small group of rail enthusiasts, running up the railroad to Mill 5 and back in one of the speeders last Saturday. No trains have plied this trackage since December of last year, so we rode on some pretty rusty looking rails. It was a hot, bumpy 20 mile ride, but it was enjoyed by all.
Based in Shelton, Washington, this private operation has hauled logs and lumber for its parent timber company Simpson Lumber (Timber) since 1890. Here you will be able to easily research all of my STC images on this site.
