On the Swiss National Day, 1st of august, the 75 year old double red arrow "Churchill Pfeil" RAe 4/8 # 1021 made a interesting trip on the Gotthard line in search of the myth of the Gotthard, center and origin of Switzerland. On the way back home in the evening, the timeless elegant railcar made a layover in Brunnen to watch the fireworks on the shore of the Vierwaldstättersee.
An ongoing/growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome, but seldom seen beauty of railroads because most of us don't go out after sundown or before sunrise. From dusk to dawn, lights are on! (And I continue to find new "Lights In The Night"!)
