| Just before reaching the Gerdau Steel Mill, SA22 makes the final grade crossing over Main Street Extension. This train brings in scrap metal by gondola and hauls out steel rebar using yellow flatcars w/ finger racks. Traditionally, the steel train would shove to the mill with a shoving platform in front as seen here. Today, the locomotives are running first to the mill with no shoving platform at the rear indicating something must have changed at the mill to allow the locomotives to run around the train for the return back to Browns Yard. |
