| The engineer give us the thumps up for keeping up with his train as NS M29 with the Southern Heritage Unit roar down the AGS North-End main for Irondale, AL. About 82 years ago the people who live along the AGS North-End was accustom to the Southern Railway's Birmingham Special which was rerouted up the AGS North-end in May 15, 1932 pulled by f-units in the Southern Green, and white scheme til the early 1970s. Ironic enough 82 years later Norfolk Southern 8099 The Southern Heritage Unit is following the foot print of the Southern Railway's Birmingham Special route. |
