| Southern 4501 leads the first of the annual series of autumn “Summerville Steam Special” trips down the Chattooga & Chickamauga Railway. This was the first public excursion the locomotive pulled away from museum trackage following its recent rehabilitation. The 4501 returned to service in September 2014 after three and a half years in the shop, during which it received a new stoker and feedwater heater – neither of which it had before. The locomotive had been out of service since 1998. |
