Remarks & Notes |
Two cogwheel railcars Bhe 1/2 of the Pilatusbahn are climbing through the rock face of the Esel (donkey) mountain on a grade of up to 48.0 %. The 125 years old, world's steepest cogwheel railway goes from Alpnachstad to Pilatus Kulm, a hight difference of 1635 meter. Most of the 10 electric railcars date from 1937, when the line was electrified. |
