Changing Seasons: The days are getting shorter and snow is starting to dust the mountain tops; winter is in the air in western Montana. In the shadow of those snowcapped peaks, a trio of Montana Rail Link SD45-2s haul a BNSF Railway train, H-KCKSPO1-18, west through Plains, Montana on Nov. 23, 2014. The three SD45-2s are part of a group that have been leased to the power hungry BNSF, but it's unclear if these vintage locomotives will live long enough to see the next season.
