After crossing the grades of Soldier Summit, Union Pacific’s LJP44 local from Salt Lake City approaches Helper Yard on December 1, 2004. This train hauled household waste, contaminated dirt, etc., and connected to a “dirt train” local that operated out of Helper to a landfill on the Sunnyside Branch.
