Remarks & Notes
"Dragging along!" As the afternoon progress we get a glimpse of loaded coal bucket NS 600 (CN) Illinois-Wansley,GA)as it snakes its way into town preparing to knock down the Hair signals (M.P. 40.1H CP-Hair) just before crossing the CSX controlled diamond in the heart of downtown Dalton, GA. Dalton is a small town that is currently growing, and is enrich with civil war history, and railroad history. The historic Western & Atlantic Sub (CSX) which is owned by the State of Georgia "to the left!" played a big roll in the city of Dalton during the civil war. Today CSX still uses the line, and which has a siding track, and small yard "to the right!" Norfolk Southern which also make a huge presence in Dalton on the Atlanta North-End which is part of the Crescent Corridor, and main thoroughfare for train traffic which run from Chattanooga to Atlanta.
