I remember this day well. Why? Because while explaining my passion for shortline railroads to the conductor, I remarked photographing the EARY marked my 50th shortline. The conductor was blown away I had visited so many lines. In retrospect, having visited nearly 250 now, I was still quite the shortline novice at the time. Everything you see here in this consist is gone. RailAmerica, and now Genesee & Wyoming have subsequently owned this line. The GP9s were scrapped when RailAmerica set out to standardize on 645-powered EMDs.
