A short V&T freight led by 2-8-0 #29 arrives in Gold Hill, NV. A shell of it's
former self, all that remains of the once thriving mining district with 8,000 residents are a few hillside structures and the historic 1869 Gold Hill depot seen above, bottom right. At one point, as recent as 2012, there was a spur track which ran towards the visible loading dock.

Incidentally, while there are several surviving V&T steam engines, #29 is heritage belongs to the Longview, Portland & Northern Railway #680 (1922), nee Louisiana & Pacific Railway Co. #252 (Baldwin built in 1916).
