Remarks & Notes
Thar's gold in them thar hills! At least there was...

Today, the Gold Hill depot and freight station (built in 1869) serves as one of the few surviving reminders of the Comstock mining boom which saw Gold Hill's population escalate to some 8,000 residents. In 1994, the Gold Hill Historical Society was established to preserve the Gold Hill depot. The station has been lovingly restored and there are hopes to one day open it to the public, perhaps as a museum /gift shop serving not only Nevada tourist, but passengers of V&T's own excursion trains.
