Where narrow gauge teakettles once simmered between runs, Colorado & Southern 634 absorbs the afternoon sun alongside the roundhouse at Denver’s Rice Yards. One of dozens of humble B-4R class Alco 2-8-0s to serve the C&S, in January, 1959, the 634 is nearing the end. The following year, she’ll be sold for scrap.
