Ascending Elkhorn grade on its crew run from Williamson to Bluefield, the Ringling Brothers Blue Unit circus train passes through the deplorable mining community of Keystone, nestled deep in West Virginia's McDowell County coalfields. As the RBBB Blue Unit passed through town, Keystone's population temporarily doubled, as 250 talented performers from several countries traveled across southern W.Va. on their journey from Cincinnati to Richmond, Va.
