Having just run the Hagans Switchback, two light engines are throttling up toward the summit inside the tunnel that connects Virginia with Kentucky on this ex-L&N mainline. Although this was only a light engine move from Pennington Gap, VA to Loyall, KY, it was still impressive to see the last mainline switchback in the United States in use.
