Remarks & Notes
A two-unit light CSX pusher set is returning to Kentucky as it negotiates the 18 degree back to 17 degree reverse curve through Natural Tunnel. This shot was taken from the mid-point of the tunnel, at a short man-made inside bore that gave the South Atlantic & Ohio (the company that built this line, now operated by NS) a passage of sufficient size to pass a train. This is looking downgrade (1.7 percent). The stream is Stock Creek, which hollowed out this passage through Purchase Ridge over millions of years.

A far cry from the common wedgie ... and particularly well executed.
