Fall comes to the Northern Central. The gentle fall of the colorful autumn leaves under a cool, gray sky provides an idyllic setting in which to photograph the passage of an equally colorful Northern Central passenger train, as it runs southbound through the aptly-named borough of Railroad, Pennsylvania. With a total area of just 6/10 of one square mile, tiny Railroad includes not only a portion of the rail trail park that now parallels the old Northern Central ROW, but also a post office, a bed and breakfast and a seafood eatery. This tiny community of just about 250 people owes its name to the Northern Central and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
