While 2014 may have been known for its wild lashups of different Class I railroad locomotives, 2015 is developing a reputation on the east coast for featuring unique lashups of rebuilt and recently acquired power. NS has taken delivery of UP SD90MAC's and most recently, CSX SD80MAC's through an in-house rebuilding program. Here, renumbered NS SD90MAC No. 7303, formerly Union Pacific No. 8078 idles on the head end of a loaded coal train in the railroad's former NYC yard at Alloy, W.Va.
This is dedicated (with permission) to the skilled and gifted photographer - Chase Gunnoe - who regularly posts and is on staff with RP. I believe he deserves a gallery showing of his remarkable work. This is for you Chase! (More great photos to come!)
