As the number of AEM-7s in service dwindles, the number of ACS-64 continues to increase. On this day two recent arrivals, Amtrak 639 and 636, are assigned to a test train operating between Washington, DC and Boston, MA. 639 is in the lead, with 636 trailing. 636 should lead the return trip to DC on the following day.
