As a result of massive earthquake and subsequent land-slide, narrow gauge Darjeeling Himalayan Railway service was disrupted between New Jalpaiguri and Kurseong since June 2010. As a result passenger trains were being operated from Kurseong. Kurseong is located at 4864 feet above Sea level and is one of the highest railway stations in India. This entire route is accredited by UNESCO as World Heritage Site since 1999. In this image we see, NDM-6 type locomotive with passenger , waiting for starter at Kurseong. As of 2015, the entire route is now open for traffic.
