This loaded ethanol train out of Marcus, IA, is bound for interchange with the NS at Chicago, IL. Here the train crawls up the grade into Delaware and under the ex-Milwaukee Mainline. With the grades on the Iowa Zone, minimum 8000 horse is required to get these 81 car trains over the hills. Since the NS supplied 2 SD60's (7600 horse total), the CN had to add a kicker to help the NS power. That why see an odd trio of SD60's for power on this train.
