Union Pacific EMD SD9043MAC No. 8059 leads a wreck train westbound at Rocky, Colorado, on March 5, 2000. From what I remember, the train was dispatched to a derailment at remote Azure on the west side of Gore Canyon on UP’s Moffat Tunnel Subdivision. Two sideboom caterpillar bulldozers, with support 40-foot boxcars are behind the power, followed by five cars of ballast and five cars of track panels. Much of this 20-car train is former Rio Grande equipment used in the Denver-based wreck train.
