Remarks & Notes
With colorful Coyote Basin stretching off into the distance, the Deseret Power Ry’s afternoon loaded train is fully stretched out on this short grade. The train is 44 loaded aluminum coal hoppers; 7200 tons total weight and about 5350 tons of Colorado bituminous coal. Those E60’s were built in 1983 and have been in heavy haul service ever since. They got new paint jobs in 2011 and look nearly new. The Deseret Power Ry. is a classy operation.
