A view inside the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad’s Durango roundhouse on October 15, 2014, sees several locomotives in different states of repair. On the right is 2-8-2 Mikado K-28 No. 473 being used as a back up locomotive for the single train being operated to Silverton by this late-season date. Just outside is K-36 No. 481, sans tender, getting appliances and other parts removed prior to a major off-season overhaul. The tender of sister locomotive No. 480 sits in the next stall on the left.
