| An Amtrak Empire Service train passes by the New York State Fairgrounds as seen from the 40 year old grandstand. The grandstand hosted its last concert on 9/3/2015, and will be demolished to make room for other things. Making this photo more rare is the addition of the Amtrak Train Days event going on in the white tents. The Amtrak Train Days exhibit was part of the fair for the first four days, exposing thousands of people to a glimpse of what passenger rail travel is like on Amtrak. Being a product of the region and able to come back as part of the ATD effort was a very rewarding full circle experience. |
