Albany & Eastern GP38-3 2002, seen in the railroad's yard in Lebanon, Oregon, was built by EMD in February 1970 as Illinois Central GP38AC 9511. When the IC and Gulf Mobile & Ohio merged it became Illinois Central Gulf 9511. The engine was later sold to the Missour-Kansas-Texas, which renumbered it MKT 335. When the MKT was merged into the Union Pacific in 1988, this engine was renumbered UP 1992 (and classed as a GP38-2). From the UP, the engine found its way to the AERC as a GP38-3, numbered 2002. Photographed on railroad property with permission and full PPE.
