"BENTONVILLE NIGHTS"
The stillness in the middle of the night is deafening along the floor of the famous Shenandoah Valley. The roar of bugs chirping or local wildlife calling out can be heard. Finally off in the distance a rumble and then a horn, The rumble begins to overtake the white noise surrounding me and again another horn. Finally a northbound approaches. These rails have been laid for over 125 years and is now a vital artery for the railroad that owns them. Bentonville is located about 10 miles south of Front Royal in Warren County, VA.

The Shenandoah Valley of Virginia boasts some impressive scenery and trains, some of the best in the state. This album is for all photos taken in the Shenandoah Valley.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
