Remarks & Notes
The Hawaiian Railway 3:00pm excursion has begun the return trip to the museum at Ewa after stopping at the present end of the line in Kahe Point. Excursion trains stop here briefly to give passengers a view of the Pacific Ocean. During this time of this photo, Hawaii was experiencing unusually hot, humid, rainy weather due to the effects of El NiƱo (ocean warming) allowing for some "storm light" at this location. 302 was built for the US Navy and served it's entire career on the island. It is now lettered for the Oahu Railway in honor of the original operator of this line. These excursions operate over a remnant of the original three-foot gauge right of way of the Oahu Railway & Land Co.
