Remarks & Notes |
A Norfolk Southern eastbound "Hill Run" soars over the small town of Covel, West Virginia, as the shadows grow long on a fall afternoon in 2001. This is the second cut of a coal train that came off the Guyandotte River earlier in the day, and two more big GEs are shoving hard on the rear. The train is climbing the 2.07 percent grade to Clarks Gap on the former Virginian Railway. |
