Sunset on Sunnyside. You are overlooking the throat of the west end of the massive yard that today funnels Amtrak, Long Island Railroad and New Jersey Transit trains into and out of New York Penn Station. The No. 7 subway line, with a Manhattan bound train, is seen hop-scotching the East Side Access tracks that will eventually be activated to allow LIRR trains and their long suffering commuters the choice to go to the east side of Manhattan with a new stub end terminal under Grand Central Terminal.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
