Northbound empties roll through Unicoi, Tennessee on a warm May day in 1982. After following the ET&WNC from Johnson City to Elizabethton and return, we decided to go to Erwin in search of the Clinchfield’s final F units, which were rumored to be in helper service there. Although we had no luck finding the F units, this clean C30-7 was a nice consolation.
