Hidden away in an old steel mill in Gadsden, Alabama, are a pair of General Electric 25-ton diesels. Now known as the Gadsden Industrial Park, these locomotives have been stenciled as such: GIP 2 and GIP 3. As an active steel mill, this was a very busy place. But on October 1st, 2015, it was as quiet as a cemetery and the rust on the wheel treads indicates very little use of late for these diminutive diesels. Photographed on private property with permission and full PPE.
