As of the date of this photo it has been eight days since CSX has operated any of its own trains over this segment of the former Clinchfield from Frisco, TN to Dante, VA. After CSX's announcement of its plans to close the Erwin, TN terminal on October 14th it took all of three days to empty Erwin Yard of it's car and locomotive inventory. The last Erwin cleanout train (X80315) consisting of eight locomotives and one hundred twenty cars passed over this bridge in the pre dawn hours of October 17th en route Russell, KY. Norfolk Southern continues to exercise trackage rights over this portion of the line from St. Paul, VA to Frisco, TN. This particular coal train's destination will be Birmingham, AL and is in the able hands of a Carbo, VA to Bulls Gap, TN crew.
