ACELA 2039 is negotiating "A" Interlocking on the west end of New York's Penn Station. Ever since the station was opened in 1910, there has been an open pit here at 9th Ave and 33rd St where train riders get a blink of light and railfans the unique view of electric only locomotives in Manhattan. Now because of development, the pit has been covered and light is no more.
