Remarks & Notes

The American Freedom train travelled east on the former DL&W mainline on July 22, 1976, moving between exhibitions in Scranton, PA and Morristown, NJ. By the time the former Reading T-1 got to Analomink, the sun had faded below the mountains, and the limits of Kodachrome 64 had to be tested to capture this image. Fortunately, the resilient film was up to the task. Today, it would take a major lumbering operation to replicate this shot with a Steamtown train.
