Remarks & Notes

Fall colors surround the remnants of the Rahway Valley Railroad. This track was abandoned in 1992 and sat dormant for over ten years. A revitalization project was started to bring the line back into service. Brush, dirt, and overgrowth were removed and new track was laid down. But funding ran out before it was finished and the County abandoned the project. It has sat like this ever since, being slowly engulfed by nature once again.
