Remarks & Notes
For the first time in years, Great Lakes Central had the privilege to operate run-through power on a unit grain train, this of obvious NS origin. With CSX increasing rates on cars, NS jumped in and won the bid for grain traffic, with this train going to the Mid-Michigan RR in Alma, which would be taken to Breckenridge for the massive MAC elevator in town. While waiting for the signal at Pitt Jct., engineer Matt Cox took a moment to step outside and pose with the beast that he has been given the opportunity to operate, one that is certainly bigger than what he is used to.
